Next theatre of war announced for FH2

The FH2 team have announced that the next phase in the mod's development is to add another theatre of war. After much debate and discussion on their forums and in the development itself they have confirmed it's going to be Normandy 1944!

Fantastic! This is the one I've personally been waiting for - I'm not a big fan of the African campaign. It's the Western Europe stuff that's the best!

Read more... for further details.

Forgotten Hope 2 - Mouth watering preview images!

Well, FH2 may be taking an incredibly frustrating long time to be completed for release but these new images from the development team show it's going to be worth waiting for!

The FH2 team write:
"Supercharge was a major British armored offensive which took place in early November of 1942. Geographically, the offensive was aimed at the Tell el Aqqaqir, near the northern end of the Axis lines, but the purpose of the attack was to breach the Axis defenses and draw their armored forces into a costly battle. The offensive was narrowly halted by a counterattack involving most of the remaining German and Italian armor, but with such heavy losses that the Axis positions at El Alamein were no longer tenable, forcing them to withdraw shortly afterwards. Lobo's map depicts Supercharge itself, as well as the opening stages of the pursuit which followed."

Read on for some more images and map descriptions...

Project Reality v0.6 Update

We're going to be releasing Project Reality v0.6 within the next 10 days or so. We're just wrapping up some details and putting together the final test build.

The Open Beta process has been invaluable for us in ironing out major kinks and issues with v0.6. A HUGE thanks to our community members who have given us feedback and helped shape this release of the award winning Project Reality mod.

Some of you might be wondering why some bugs identified in the Open Beta were not fixed. We'll never see a "perfect" release of Project Reality, but hopefully each release is better than the previous one!

Expect a v0.6 release announcement shortly (assuming all goes well in the final stage of testing).

Forgotton Hope 2 Update.

Hello F10 and Guests welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope.

After two weeks without news it is time to show you a little more of the mod's progress.

The Flugabwehr-Kanone 18, probably the most well known artillery piece of the war, is technically an anti aircraft artillery gun, but that is an oversimplification. Like its opponents, the Wehrmacht of 1939 had underestimated the need for powerful anti-tank guns and equipped its anti-tank units with weapons that proved too small for their job. Unlike other armed forces, it had a ready substitute for the underpowered AT guns already in place -- the notorious '88'.

Although designed for an anti-air role, and deployed in large numbers by the Wehrmacht, which emphasized the tactical use of air power in its doctrines, its high velocity projectiles were also deadly to enemy armor. While the armies of other nations struggled to play catch-up, Germany had an effective anti-tank weapon avaialble in abundance from the start of the conflict. Also useful as direct support artillery it was a flexible and justly feared weapon that deserves much of the credit for creating the legend of German armored prowess.

Forgotton Hope 2 Update.

Hello F10 and Guests welcome back to another update of Forgotten Hope.

It's been a while since we last showed cased new stuff. Today the time has come to change that. We would like to introduce a few features of the gameplay.

Push Mode For those who have played the original Forgotten Hope, this will be a well understood concept. In Forgotten Hope 2, there are many improvements and refinements. Most notably, the avenues of attack and contention of capture points is shown and updated on each player's minimap. This provides clear and simple feedback on the progress of the map and is a great improvement on the confusion occasionally caused by Push in Forgotten Hope, or large volumes of text instructions seen in other mods which implement variations on this concept.
